About

The SEO Hackathon 2026 is a remote hackathon run synchronously over a 48-hour period (you don't need to spend 48hrs on it, just all working during the same period of time). The goal is to build a solution to a real problem - a new workflow, capability, or tool that makes SEO work better.

We're aiming for MVPs that deliver incremental impact, not sprawling "someday" platforms. If it's useful, shippable, and improves something in the real world, it counts.

If you think you want to join check out the link below. Exact date still to be determined, but we're aiming for late feb.

Everything gets shared and made available to the industry.

How it works

  1. Teams: SEOs can form teams of up to 3 people. Solo teams are also welcome.
  2. Comms: We'll run a closed WhatsApp group for participants during the event.
  3. Build: Create an MVP that delivers an incremental improvement or new capability.
  4. Commit: At the end, we'll commit everything into a shared repo.
  5. Document: We'll generate README.md files for each project.
  6. Show: We'll record lightning walkthroughs of each project and publish them (location TBC).

For detailed instructions on getting started with GitHub and AI-assisted coding, see the full README.
